Getting to visit my newborns again after they turn one is always a highlight for me.  (You can see some of my favorites from this little guy’s newborn session here. It was so wonderful to see some of these newborn pictures displayed around their home!) For this sweet little boy’s first birthday photo session we started off with some family pictures outside. It was so wonderful to see how much his parents adore him! I loved all the bright colored balloons mom had to use once we started with his pictures. They were so fun and Alex loved them too! After that we spent some time playing inside before jumping into the cake smash. He wasn’t so sure about the cake at first but eventually jumped in and painted the floor with icing… then painted his face. I love it! Mom and I created the adorable collage to showcase all of her favorite memories from the cake smash. We had such a great playful time together which is what first birthday sessions are all about!
